St Gemma’s Accumulator Challenge
St Gemma’s Accumulator Challenge
In the month of October Bsmart Autocentre took part in the St Gemma’s Hospice Accumulator Challenge.
We competed with other local businesses who took part in the accumulator challenge, to raise as much money as possible for St Gemma’s Hospice. As part of the challenge our team had 31 days in total to get creative, have fun and challenge ourselves, so we completed the following challenges:
- Our managing director Amandeep Sirha took part in the Run Nation Roundhay 10k Run
- We hosted and arranged a chicken wing challenge at The Sheepscar Bar and Grill (Leeds) who kindly donated all of the chicken wings
- We asked for donations from all the customers who booked in with us in October
We raised a whopping total of ยฃ1,945.91 for St Gemma’s Hospice.
A big thank you to the following:

BMW RECALL
BMW RECALL
There has been a recall on the BMW 1 Series Models built between 2004 and 2011 affected by an air conditioning fault.
The German car maker is in the process of writing to owners of 1 Series models altering them to the recall.
However, due to a parts shortage, drivers may have to wait more than eight weeks before the problem is addressed.
BMW says that a problem with the air conditioning unit has the potential to cause overheating, damage and, in some rare cases, fire.
In a statement it said: โOver time, frictional corrosion can occur at the contacts of the blower regulator due to vibrational stress. โWhen combined with high current flow at the maximum blower speed, an increase in temperature can occur, which may result in damage to the regulator connection and wiring. โIn rare cases this may lead to a fire. โCars are being recalled to dealers so the wiring to the regulator can be examined and replaced. In some cases, the regulator may also have to be replaced.
The cars are being recalled to dealers so the wiring to the regulator can be examined and replaced.
In some cases, the regulator may also have to be replaced.
BMW suggests owners can continue to use their car as normal as long as it does not develop intermittent or complete loss of airflow from the air conditioning system including the max air conditioning or demist functions.
Owners are also advised to be wary of a scorching/burning smell inside the cabin.
The carmaker also suggests owners should avoid using the โmaxโ and demist settings on their air conditioning and owners with manual air conditioning have been told to leave the fan speed at its lowest setting.
