VEHICLE EXHAUSTS

Vehicle Exhausts are located under the car or van and run from the front to the rear. It also contains the following:

• Manifold
• Downpipe
• catalytic converter
• diesel particulate filter (diesel vehicles only)
• centre section
• back box.

The exhaust plays an important part by collecting harmful gases which are produced by the engines cylinders and funnels this into the catalytic converter. The catalytic converter then removes any harmful parts from the gas before passing it through the rest of the exhaust system.

Signs of an issue with your exhaust:

• Smoke coming out of your vehicle exhaust
• Vehicle engine noise
• Vehicle exhaust leak
• Rattling noise from your exhaust
